Montreal has caught the fancy of many tourists from all around the world. This is not very surprising, considering how easily tourists can access several popular national parks from here. Rick Frank Andreoli of Montreal mentions three of them in today’s blog.

1. Iles-de-Boucherville

This national park easily gets to the top of the list of any Montreal traveler because it is only less than 10 kilometers away from the city center. Often considered an ecological and historical haven, the park is made up of 5 small islands, which are found right within the Saint Lawrence River. Visitors flock to this area to enjoy activities like canoeing, fishing, and kayaking. One of the small islands has a golf course for those who want to take a few swings.

2. Forillon

Forillon National Park is for the traveler who is a fan of scenic drives and breathtaking photographs, shares Rick Frank Andreoli, a Montreal local. This place is actually where the Saint Lawrence River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Along the coast, this is laden with the most beautiful beaches in Quebec. Off the coast, visitors can enjoy many water sporting activities. Here is where people can go scuba diving and even whale watching.

3. La Mauricie

La Mauricie is often referred to as the best freshwater paradise closest to Montreal. The place, located in the heart of the Laurentians, is popular for its scenic lakes. A popular camping ground, people can enjoy leisurely hikes into the woods, giving them a chance to observe the natural wildlife in its element. Rick Frank Andreoli of Montreal adds that most visitors look forward to bathing in the freshwater lake, right at the foot of the waterfall.
